Usually, its a tough act to get Ms. Pandey to say “Bye” to Daddy when he goes to the office, amidst all the hollering for “aaoottide, aaoottide, birdie, birdie, pool!”. Today, for some reason, an extra ounce of care swept her aside as she quietly whispered “Bye! See you Daddy!” Of course, Mama doesn’t remember having taught her “See You” ever. Probably all those visits to Gymboree are now paying off. In the evening, when Mama was calling up Daddy and handed Anika the phone, the same ounce of care returned, and instead of simply punching the phone buttons, she whispered: “Hi Daddy!” This has been one of Daddy’s happier weeks.
