It was one of those giant leaps for Mr. Pandey today.

So far, Mr. Pandey had been loud and authoritative, but has been communicating mostly with vowels. As an example, “Waaaaaaa”, “Wooooaaaaa”, “Waaaaaaaaay” probably meant, get me to bed pronto!

But over the past few days, Mr. Pandey’s jaw has been having a little extra exercise, as if he has had a dire need to chew a piece of steak. Why would one do that? One reason could be the impending solid-feeding milestone at around 5 months, but he wouldn’t be a carnivore right off the bat, would he?

The bulb lit today – the first few consonants were uttered. “Baaaaaaa”, “Boooo” and “Gooooo” were added to the vocabulary.

Mama and Daddy were instantly at work trying to impresss “Maaaa Maaaa” and “Daaaa Daaaa” upon him. No luck yet.
