Boo-eey

on

Learning the basic sounds, Anika has just mastered oo and ee together. Naturally, the first sound that she utters whenever something exciting happens is “Boo-eey“. If there are birds in the vicinity its boo-eey, boo-eey; if there are bright lights, its boo-eey, boo-eey. But there is one occasion when boo-eey is dreaded like the plague. If Ms. Anika is sleeping and you hear a half-hearted boo-eey, all is lost. This boo-eey signals a fresh, jubilant, and energized Anika, who will not go back to sleep no matter how tired her parents are, no matter how late (or early) in the night it is, no matter how hard her mom rocks her. Over the past few days, we have heard boo-eeys at 3 am in the night.
